World Matchplay Tips: Raging Bull gets nod

Jaymes believes Terry can cause an upset tonight

Terry Jenkins showed a side of his character that's rarely been seen before to book his place in the semi-finals. If he maintains that attitude he can reach a third World Matchplay final, says Jaymes Monte.

The Bull looks more determined this week...

Back Jenkins + 3.5 legs @ 1.84/5

Terry Jenkins
is, by reputation, one of the most placid men on the PDC circuit, but when he started looking riled by Adrian Lewis in his quarter-final match I knew that my advised bet on Jackpot was doomed.

I wouldn't go so far as to say that The Bull has changed his attitude towards the game, but he certainly looks a more determined character this week, and he is all the better for it. Whether he can go all the way and end his long, long wait for a Major title is another thing, but I do fancy that he'll put himself in the frame by beating James Wade this evening.

Earlier in the week Jenkins spoke of how much his omission from the Premier League has helped him to get his head right and develop a fresher outlook on the game. Wade, for me, could do with a similar break and, over the past 12-18 months, has regularly looked jaded on the big stage.

Over a race-to17, there will be plenty of peaks and troughs from both players, so this could be a very good one to trade. Therefore as a starting point back the outsider, Jenkins, at odds of 2.915/8. While the 1.84/5 on Jenkins with a +3.5 leg handicap is also a solid bet.
