After landing a winner backing Phil Taylor on the handicap last night, Wayne Mardle casts his eye over the second night of last 16 action and it's a maximums bet with 180s king Dave Chisnall that has grabbed his attention...
"The odds of 3/4 for Dave Chisnall look wrong - I think he should be 1/2 - and I'd place the same bet if he was 4/7. This is the bet of the week."
Michael Smith v Dave Chisnall
Live on Sky Sports 1
Another tough night to call from a match odds perspective, so I'm back on the 180s for my bet this evening.
After all, how can you neglect the maximum market when Dave Chisnall is playing? And more's to the point how can you ignore Chizzy when he's priced at 3/4 to hit more than Michael Smith?
The stats suggest that it's a no contest. We know stats don't win games but here they are, read them, smile, then place your bet.
Smith has hit four 180s in his 23 legs played in this competition, and the last time he played over the same format as this evening was just a few weeks ago, when he hit four maximums in 15 legs.
Chisnall, meanwhile, has hit 13 180s in his last 21 legs. Over the same format as this evening two weeks ago he hit 10 of the best in 16 legs.
The odds of 3/4 for Dave Chisnall look wrong - I think he should be 1/2 - and I'd place the same bet if he was 4/7.
This is the bet of the week.
Back Chisnall to hit most 180s v Smith at 3/4
