After a venture to Germany the Premier League Darts league phase returns to England on Thursday night, and we're off to Exeter where our man Wayne Mardle has four selections for you to consider...
"If Daryl puts his doubling woes behind him he could make that 100/30 look a very big price."
*Please Note: Tonight's Premier League Darts has been cancelled due to adverse weather conditions meaning access to and from the arena has become hazardous and dangerous.
Most weeks it's a difficult task picking a few fancies in the Premier League. You have to admit it's a tough tournament to predict the outcomes.
Well this week I seem to be full of opinion. I've studied the stats and I've deciphered the data to come up with four selections in the Match Odds markets.
Fit again Anderson can prevail
Rob has improved in recent weeks. Last week in his post match interview he mentioned he's feeling more settled and back into his routine. The World Champion has been a little distracted with all what goes with being the champ.
Anderson is playing like the man we've become used to seeing. His back is better and is arm is fluent. The last two weeks we've seen Gary play beautifully.
If Gary continues to play like he has for the last fortnight he'll win, and win well.
Back Gary Anderson to Win @ 7/5
Gurney a big price to get some double delight
I've been saying for weeks, when Daryl Gurney starts to hit his doubles he'll win. He scores so well. At over 3-1 his odds are way too big to win this match.
Granted, ol Snakey is playing some decent stuff but the scoring phase of the game could belong to Gurney.
If Daryl puts his doubling woes behind him he could make that 100/30 look a very big price.
Back Daryl Gurney to Win @ 10/3
Consistent Barney can inflict first defeat on Smith
I'm a fan of both of these dartists. Both just play and now have a fluent method. Good on the eye.
Smith is top of the league right now and is full of confidence.
I'm of the opinion that Raymond's relentless consistency can win the day. Smith blows a little hot and cold, if that's the case here then Barney may clean up.
Back Raymond van Barneveld to Win @ 7/5
Mounting pressure to be Gerwyn's downfall
Simon suffered defeat for the first time last week and in turn was knocked off top spot by Michael Smith. Price hasn't registered a win yet.
I've been in Gerwyn's shoes, losing and struggling to settle in any match. Even when not losing, getting a draw is a grind and he's always having to pull it back.
Price knows he needs to start winning or elimination after nine weeks is a certainty, and there in lies more pressure.
This is a winnable game for Gerwyn, he has to feel like that.
What's making me fancy a Whitlock win is his 'B' game, it's ok, decent. Price on the other hand doesn't seem to have one right now. He's either good or bad, unfortunately in this Premier League so far, invariably bad, well ok, not quite good enough.
He needs to relax, hard to do when you're stressing.
Back Simon Whitlock to Win @ 6/5
*These as an accumulator pay 54/1.
