Wayne Mardle's Premier League Tips: Snakebite's standards to slip against Anderson

Will Peter Wright come unstuck against Gary Anderson?
Will Peter Wright come unstuck against Gary Anderson?

Week 11 of the Premier League finds the leading 10 players in Liverpool and Wayne has a pair of wagers from an exciting lineup of matches...

"The averages are set at 100.5 for Wright, and 101.5 for Anderson. I think they'll both struggle to hit those high notes. Peter has only beaten 100.5 on four occasions and his mean average is 99.45, Gary has averaged higher than 101.5 seven times."

This is a real tough night, and I'm staying well away from predicting the results of matches but I do have a pair of sidemarket selections for you...

Tonight's Lineup
Gary Anderson v Dave Chisnall
Michael van Gerwen v Peter Wright
Adrian Lewis v Raymond van Barneveld
Phil Taylor v James Wade
Peter Wright v Gary Anderson

The match I want to concentrate on is tonight's final tie.

Peter Wright v Gary Anderson

Both Peter and Gary have to play twice this evening and, historically, it seems it's harder to perform to the mean level when playing twice.

It shouldn't make too much difference of course, but with the stress, mental fatigue and added importance to the matches it does seem more likely at this point of the season.

We have seen time and time again that being fresh and ready for the second game can be a little more difficult. Example: James Wade had 110 average in his first match last week then 93 in his second.

Win or lose their opening matches of the night, there's no getting away from it, this is a HUGE game in the context of the League table.

In my opinion Gary can't afford to lose. If Gary loses to Wright, it's possible he could end up four points away from a play-off place. That's the worst case scenario. On the other hand, by beating Chisnall, then Wright, Gary would have the rest running for cover.

It's all ifs and buts, I know.

The problem is the same for Wright, he cannot really afford to lose to Gary Anderson.

I can see this game being a really edgy affair, with both players feeling it's a 'Must not lose game '.

Now I've set the scene, this is how we'll pocket from the situation...

The averages are set at 100.5 for Wright, and 101.5 for Anderson. I think they'll both struggle to hit those high notes. Peter has only beaten 100.5 on four occasions and his mean average is 99.45, Gary has averaged higher than 101.5 seven times.

It's no secret these two don't invite each other round for Sunday brunch.

I'm playing the situation and the meaning - this is a big game. In my opinion, Gary is more likely to play well than Peter.
Peter plays Michael Van Gerwen before playing Gary, so this could be a real dismal night for Snakebite.

Recommended Bet
Back Wright to average under 100.5 @ 5/6

Like is said, I'm struggling to select loads of worthwhile bets, as backing big odds-on shots isn't in my nature.

The only other flutter I may have is Adrian Lewis to hit more maximums than Raymond Van Barneveld. So far this term Barney has 'out 180-ed' Lewis, but we know historically that Jackpot is one of the best maximum machines, EVER.
I just hope I've picked the right week for things to get back to normal.

Stats: RVB 44 180s, 115 legs played; Lewis 32 180s, 105 legs played.

Recommended Bet
Back Lewis to hit most 180s @ 6/4
