We're off to Sheffield for the latest round of matches in this year's Premier League darts, and our man Wayne Mardle fancies MVG to deliver the goods, and Michael Smith to give Rob Cross a tough night...

"I'm not going all in on this but I like the draw no bet for Michael Smith at 13/8. I think it's a tough game to call but feel Smith is producing the goods right now, and after last week's demolition of RVB 7-0 he should be as confident as he's ever felt."

Back Michael Smith Draw No Bet @ 13/8

What a tough week to call! So many games that could go the opposite of what you fancy. No change for me there then!

It's a huge week for Raymond Van Barneveld and Peter wright, both play twice and play each other.

There's no Gerwyn Price or Mensur Suljovic on show, they were eliminated from the competition last week.

Predictably good Van Gerwen to deliver

Simon Whitlock v Michael van Gerwen

No long Spiel here, MVG for the match treble. To win, to hit the most 180's and to have the highest finish. As a little side bet, I think the 170 checkout may be hit in this match.

Like I said, I think it's a really tough week to predict so I'm going with the most predictable player on the planet to do us a favour.

MVG hit ten 180s last week, a Premier League record over the format of first to seven legs.

Confident Smith to cause minor upset

Michael Smith v Rob Cross

The last time these two met, Cross got the better of Smith 7-5. The head-to-head reading isn't easy on the eye for Michael Smith either, he's lost the last five meetings.

Smith really should have/could have beaten Rob in the World Championships, he had darts at a double to defeat the man who would then go on to become world champ.

You have to take your chances, Michael didn't...Rob did!

Michael's form has got better and better, on and off the big stage. Smith is now winning events and reaching the latter stages regularly.

Cross isn't playing to the standard of just a few weeks ago. He was a little off when beating Gary Anderson last week, they both were. Cross didn't play at the weekend due to a bug he'd picked up a few days previous.

I'm not going all in on this but I like the draw no bet for Michael Smith at 13/8. I think it's a tough game to call but feel Smith is producing the goods right now, and after last week's demolition of RVB 7-0 he should be as confident as he's ever felt.
