Wayne Mardle returns with a preview of Thursday night's Premier League Darts action where MVG takes on Gary Anderson...

"Both, Peter and Rob are so good so often, even their poor games are decent. The consistency of the pair is what makes them so difficult to beat"

Two weeks down and two defeats registered for the world champ, Rob Cross, I didn't see that coming! Cross needs to start getting points on the board if he's to avoid elimination.

Both, Peter and Rob are so good so often, even their poor games are decent. The consistency of the pair is what makes them so difficult to beat, it's what makes them champions.

I just can't separate these two on ability, we know in any game, any outcome is possible, but to envisage a one sided affair is difficult. Rob hasn't played well in the Premier League yet, but I really think that some fine displays over the weekend at the UK Open qualifiers have given him the fillip he needed.

If you do fancy a winner the draw no bet is the punt, the sensible play.

Gary Anderson v Michael Van Gerwen

Ok, let's get down to it, I'm only interested in the MVG performance here.

The Green Machine has averaged over 100 in 28 of his last thirty matches, incredible stuff, and of those thirty matches he's only dropped below the spread of 102.50 seven times.

I think the odds are in our favour, and the stats back up my thoughts. Gary Anderson is Michael's opponent. If Gary can push Michael then the 102.50 average will be very doable. C'mon Michael, hit plenty!
