Wayne Mardle continues his focus on the World Matchplay, and this time around he is casting his expert eye across the semi-final between Gary Anderson v Phil Taylor...
"If Gary can replicate the form of previous rounds then there's a real possibility of Taylor's winning record coming to an end."
Gary Anderson v Phil Taylor
Live on Sky Sports 1
I find it very difficult to back against The Power, you just know he'll play well. And let's not forget, Phil hasn't been beaten on the Winter Gardens stage since 2007, when he lost to Terry Jenkins in the quarter final.
Gary Anderson is performing like a champion right now though, and he's playing to the same standard that took him so close to winning the World Championship back in 2011.
If Gary can replicate the form of previous rounds then there's a real possibility of Taylor's winning record coming to an end. This match really is all about Gary Anderson - if he hits the big shots at the right time and keeps Phil under pressure, then the well-supported Scot could reach the final for the first time in his career.
I think this could be close so for me the bet has to be Gary Anderson on the handicap. Good luck and enjoy the darting delights that will surely be served up tonight!
Back Gary Anderson +3.5 legs at 2.01/1 or better
