Snakebite was the winner on the opening night in Cardiff and also impressed during the first Players Championship weekend of the season. With five successive averages in excess of a ton on day one in Barnsley, he then went on to beat Gerwyn Price in Sunday's final.
Such is his form at the moment, the current World Champion could topple The Iceman and move into the world number one spot for the first time in his career this weekend.
Undoubtedly the best player on the planet at the moment, Wright is 10/3 to be crowned champion on night two of the Premier League season, with Gerwyn Price at 7/2. Reigning champion Jonny Clayton and Michael van Gerwen are both 4/1 to be victorious.
Ferret consistency is key

Jonny Clayton's impressive form looks to be continuing into 2022. Whilst he struggled to produce his best in last week's final, there've not been many below par performances from the Welshman of late. In Liverpool, he takes on Michael Smith in a repeat of arguably the match of the World Championship less than two months ago.
Bully Boy's scoring deserted him last Thursday as he failed to hit a single 180 in his defeat to Peter Wright. He was 3/3 on the outer ring but too many stray darts cost him.
The Ferret was superb in his opening two matches in front of home support before coming unstuck against a sublime Snakebite in the final.
I expect Smith to play better but still think Clayton will come through on Thursday evening at 4/6.
Whilst both players are prolific treble 20 hitters, I also think there is value in backing Clayton to hit the most 180s at 11/5.
Plenty for MvG to ponder

Michael van Gerwen's quest for another major trophy continues and with every tournament that passes, his mental resilience is tested further.
The Green Machine fell at the first hurdle in Cardiff despite averaging over four points more than Gary Anderson. Remaining calm and collected when questioned about his form, he seems to be growing increasingly frustrated up on the oche as he struggles to find the answer to his current woes.
It's like he's trying to force things to happen, he wants it too much. There's been some uncharacteristically poor board management and finishing under pressure isn't up to the standard we became accustom to seeing from the 32-year-old.
Whilst we have seen glimpses of the MvG who dominated this game only a short time ago, there's no consistency and more often than not, he looks vulnerable. I think Wright will have too much for him in Liverpool.
At the weekend, Peter hit 180s more regularly than Michael with 41 in the 122 legs he played and I like the look of Snakebite to hit the most 180s and win at 8/5.
