The permutations going into the final night of the Premier League group stages are plentiful, but Jaymes Monte is confident he's found a winning bet...
Jackpot has developed a habit in recent years of getting himself into tricky situations, and subsequently battling his way out of the corner.
Usually at this stage of the Premier League we have, if we're lucky, two players fighting for one remaining semi-final spot. This year, such has been the competitiveness of the 2012 Premier League, five players are still battling for two remaining spots going into week 14.
Two places could quite quickly become one, however. If Adrian Lewis can beat Simon Whitlock in the night's opener the two-time world champion will confirm his place in the semi-finals alongside his opponent on the night, and Phil Taylor.
Neither player comes into the match in good form however, having each lost last their fixtures last Thursday. Lewis was particularly below par in a one-sided 8-3 defeat to Kevin Painter.
However, in recent years Jackpot has developed a habit of getting himself into tricky situations, and subsequently battling his way out of the corner. Having beaten Taylor three weeks ago he only needed three points from his remaining three matches to reach the fabled 14-point mark, yet here we are going into the final week with Lewis still on 12 points.
There is very little riding on the outcome of this match for Whitlock, similarly to his last two matches that he has lost. And for that reason alone we could quite easily oppose the Aussie. Throw into the mix Lewis's penchant for winning when it matters and the 2.35/4 available on a Jackpot victory looks particularly appealing.
Back Lewis to beat Whitlock @ 2.35/4
