Grand Slam of Darts Tips: Sensational Sherrock to thrive once more

Sherrock looking to make even more history at the Grand Slam

Night four sees the conclusion of the group stages in Wolverhampton and Abigail Davies is expecting Anderson to ruin Barney's Grand Slam return.

"The Queen of the Palace was focused from the outset, starting with seven perfect darts and going on to wrap up the opening leg in 12. She breezed through the match, untroubled, raising the roof with her scoring and finishing."

When it comes to favourites to be crowned champion, not a lot separates Gerwyn Price at 10/3 and Michael van Gerwen at 12/5 whilst Michael Smith is out at 16/1 to win a first major title.

Everyone is talking about Fallon again

Fallon Sherrock created even more history in her sensational 5-0 win over Mike De Decker on Sunday evening, a 101.55 average the highest ever by a female player in a televised match.

The Queen of the Palace was focused from the outset, starting with seven perfect darts and going on to wrap up the opening leg in 12. She breezed through the match, untroubled, raising the roof with her scoring and finishing.

Sherrock said that after taking in the atmosphere on night one, she was better equipped for her second game and the 27-year-old certainly looked more relaxed.

A massive clash with Gabriel Clemens awaits and I'm inclined to back her to beat The German Giant on Tuesday with both players to throw two or more 180s at 5/1.

Gary Anderson and Raymond van Barnaveld will battle it out in Group H

It was clear from night one that injury to Joe Davis was going to prevent the 24-year-old from providing a stern challenge at the Slam, with tennis elbow clearly impacting his game he has struggled to give a true account of himself.

Whilst the experience will undoubtedly be valuable, it was at times difficult to watch his game against Barney and I think that first and foremost, we all hope to see the World Youth runner-up get himself back to full fitness.

Barney was again given a rapturous reception by the Wolverhampton crowd and did not disappoint them, a convincing 5-0 victory, pleasing fans with a 121 finish to complete a 12-dart fourth leg before getting the job done with a 15-darter.

The 2012 Grand Slam champion is still in with a chance of qualifying going into his third game, he'll face two time runner up Gary Anderson in a winner takes all match.

The Flying Scotsman has beaten RvB on the two previous occasions they've met in this competition and also has a positive overall head to head record against the Dutchman.

I think Anderson will edge a really close encounter, he's 8/11 to win.
