The second day of the PDC World Championship sees the afternoon sessions commence, and our man Wayne Mardle has an early and a late selection for you to consider on the last Friday before Christmas...

"To stop this slide Dolan will need to win this match, it's just a mounting of unwanted pressure. Kyle Anderson is a player on the up, and will be confident that he can remove his opponent from the draw."

Justin Pipe v Christian Kist

As a World Champion Christian Kist knows what it takes to win, you need to be strong in mind, body and spirit. There in lies a problem for the 2012 BDO champ.

Christian has really suffered in the last few years with arthritis in the wrists and ankles. Kist has an amazing amount of talent that doesn't show itself as often as he'd like.

Justin Pipe is a dogged character, and will be tough to beat.

While Justin's normal standard of play isn't going to unduly worry Christian he'll still have to perform well otherwise he'll be the one going home.

Pipe is a player who just keeps plugging away, he plays to a decent standard nearly every game. If you are below your best Justin Pipe will beat you, he's literally made a living from it.

Brendan Dolan v Kyle Anderson
Friday, 20:00
Live on Sky Sports Darts

The world number 18 is the outsider to win this contest, that's because Kyle Anderson (ranked 41st) has been showing some fantastic ability this year.

Anderson is a player who's hard to rattle and hard to read, he sometimes remains pretty deadpan in the heat of battle and that can be disconcerting for his opponents.

Brendan Dolan isn't full of confidence like Anderson is, this time last year Brendan was seeded 11, a movement of seven places the wrong way in the rankings will worry the Northern Irishman. You cannot play with freedom when lacking confidence.

To stop this slide Dolan will need to win this match, it's just a mounting of unwanted pressure. Kyle Anderson is a player on the up, and will be confident that he can remove his opponent from the draw.
