Frank Warren stages a competitive card from the Royal Albert Hall on Saturday and Betfair's Frankie Monkhouse has an ace bet...
"Faraci has never gone beyond eight rounds, and although he scored an upset win on the road last time, most of his previous bouts have been in Italy and Switzerland amongst familiar faces."
A royal arrival
Big-time boxing returns to our screens this weekend thanks to Frank Warren and his Queensberry Promotions team. An action-packed card comes from the Royal Albert Hall in Kensington, London, and fans will be in attendance on Saturday. Can't make it along? Fear not as the best of the evening's activities will be shown live on BT Sports.
Top of the bill pairs Manchester's undefeated light heavyweight Lyndon Arthur with Italy's Davide Faraci. The pair clash in a bout scheduled for 12 rounds to decide the future of the WBO Inter-Continental title. Watch live and place your bets on the Betfair Exchange.
King Arthur scores an upset win
Arthur arrives at the venue boasting an unblemished 18-fight professional record with a dozen of his wins coming inside the distance. The 30-year-old from Lancashire is the current owner of the title on the line, and he'll be desperate to keep hold of it and extend his winning run, climbing the world rankings in the process. He's currently ranked second in the UK behind Joshua Buatsi and 16th in a global list topped by Artur Beterbiev.
King Arthur was last seen in action winning the WBO Inter-Continental and Commonwealth title with a split decision over fellow Briton and former world title challenger Anthony Yarde. Lyndon snatched victory in Westminster late last year with the scorecards reading 115-114, 111-117, 115-114. Not only did Arthur take a major scalp that evening while driving his way through the rankings, he upset the odds when doing so, proving he is a man that shouldn't be written off.
Will Lyndon win again and bag a 19th career victory? Punters certainly believe so, and the current betting available on the Betfair Exchange has Arthur priced at 1.041/25 for the win with a KO/TKO 1.292/7 or a third points win on the bounce trading at 43/1.
Faraci aims to spoil the party
Faraci is a Swiss-born, Italian-based fighter who arrives in England determined to upset the party. The 29-year-old brings a CV detailing 15 wins from as many outings, with seven of those coming by knockout. Having never suffered defeat in a career that can be traced back to 2016, the away fighter will be eager to return home with the title and his perfect record intact. To do that, he must put in the performance of his life.
Ranked number one in Italy, Davide can be found listed at 29th in the world, but all that will change if he comes away with a positive result on Saturday. Victory over Arthur will shoot him up the ladder and prove he is a contender for major titles in future. This bout is a real chance for the underdog to show what he is made of and get his name known by the wider boxing public. Is he good enough to do that?
Faraci was last seen in action beating Emre Cukur in Germany on points over eight rounds. That was another battle of the unbeatens and was another fight where Davide came out of the away corner, expected to lose. Faraci can be backed at odds of 1211/1 to win the fight, and that quote will catch the eye of some.
Challenger in over his head
On paper, we have two talented and ambitious fighters who want to win while protecting their unbeaten records. Arthur gave us a career-best performance last time, but when shining the spotlight on his opponent, the record begins to shrink.
Faraci has never gone beyond eight rounds, and although he scored an upset win on the road last time, most of his previous bouts have been in Italy and Switzerland amongst familiar faces.
Faraci is in over his head and will be outclassed going into the later rounds. With Arthur winning each of his last three on points, he's picked to impress the scorers again. Back Arthur to win on points at the value.
