Betfair Ambassador David Haye fills fight fans in on that famous Dereck Chisora outburst and his thoughts on the Chisora-Parker betting...

"Chisora is the only man who has the capabilities to stop Parker"

Answer irritated him

There have been comments on social media suggesting Dereck Chisora's recent comments at the press conference to announce his fight with Joseph Parker on 26 October at the O2 Arena were scripted. I can say that wasn't the case, by any stretch of the imagination.

He heard something on stage that he hadn't heard before. Prior to that he believed, as did I, that the show was to have a co-main event, featuring Chisora v Parker and Josh Taylor v Regis Prograis for the Muhammad Ali Trophy.

Dereck then asked on stage who the main event was and was informed it was, in fact, Taylor-Prograis. This irritated him, to say the least, and he let it be known.

Work in progress

That's something that's being worked on at the moment. Both are exciting fights, but I believe the one that will go to the ring last - the main event, if you will - will be whoever Sky Sports and Matchroom Boxing believe will assist in generating the most pay-per-view buys.

I agree with that too. It shouldn't be about opinion it should be about who the experts at Sky and Matchroom rate higher and want top of the bill. I believe that's Dereck Chisora. He commands the greatest pay-per-view audience and should be the man who fights last.

Chisora can stop Parker

The betting for Dereck Chisora v Joseph Parker will be very interesting. I feel, regardless of who the favourite is, Chisora is the only man who has the capabilities to stop Parker. Joe famously went the distance with Anthony Joshua and didn't look hurt at any stage of that fight. He went 12 rounds with Dillian Whyte and was dropped a couple of times, but he got up and rallied back in the final round. So much so, he came close to stopping Whyte.

Parker has already proven he's very tough and durable, but Dereck Chisora is looking to do something Joe has never experienced before. That is bring sustained pressure for as long as the night lasts and force his opponent to fight his fight.

The current betting available on the Betfair Sportsbook has Parker as 4/7 favourite against the 11/8 of Chisora and 22/1 the draw.
