After his stunning success in the 100m final the Betfair market says Usain Bolt is the man to beat going into Thursday's 200m showdown against Justin Gatlin
"Bolt's ability to deliver at the key moments in the biggest events seems to have won the full respect of the market."
Usain Bolt can be backed at 1.538/15 to add the World 200m title to his collection ahead of Thursday's final in the Bird's Nest.
The Jamaican sprinting legend shocked the Betfair markets with his stunning one-hundredth of a second defeat of Justin Gatlin in the 100m final on Sunday.
Gatlin had been a very solid favourite to eclipse his rival that day, but the tables have turned for their next showdown at the Championships.
The American is now a 2.8615/8 shot to upset Bolt with Britain's Zharnel Hughes the next shortest price in the betting at 70.069/1.
Bolt's ability to deliver at the key moments in the biggest events seems to have won the full respect of the market.
Despite that, Gatlin has set the fastest time in qualifying. Bolt's 19:95 was a season's best for him but nevertheless clocked in eight hundredths behind the second favourite's 19:87.
Both men clearly had something in reserve, however, and Thursday's race looks set to be something special.
