Campaign gives Marathon runners the chance to back themselves with a free £20 bet and raise extra money for their chosen charity.

Betfair has re-launched its successful 'Back Yourself' campaign in time for the 2018 London Marathon, offering runners the chance to win money for their charity by placing a free bet on themselves to hit their target time.
Back Yourself 2015 & 2016 saw Betfair donate over £70,000 to charity with more than 2,000 runners applying to back themselves.
The Back Yourself site, first launched in 2015, will be open to all participants from Wednesday April 18 until Saturday April 21, the day before the race.
How Back Yourself works
Runners simply need to enter a few details about their running history, training efforts, and target time and the site will then calculate the odds of them hitting their target. Runners can then place their £20 free bet.
If the target time is reached, the runner will need to send a screenshot of their official time to Betfair, and the company will donate the winnings plus their £20 stake to the runners' fundraising page.
No easy feat
Betfair understands that the Marathon is no easy feat so if the target time is missed, the £20 free stake will be donated to Cancer Research UK. Everyone wins.
Naomi Totten, Spokesperson for Betfair, who is running the Marathon herself, said: "With nothing to do now but taper, runners will be focusing on maximising their fundraising efforts to make all those months of training worthwhile.
"By backing themselves to hit their target time they have an extra incentive on the day too. We had thousands of entries in 2016 with around 70% of those hitting their target and claiming their winnings after the race.
"For anyone that doesn't manage to make their time, we will donate their stakes to Cancer Research."
