Richie Woodhall

Richie Woodhall is a former WBC super-middleweight champion and Olympic bronze medal winning boxer. Born and raised in Shropshire, the keen West Bromwich Albion fan fought 29 times as a professional often in front of his local crowd in Telford. A busy fighter who won Commonwealth and European title as well as the WBC belt, his career in the ring ended in 2000 after a defeat to legendary Welsh pugilist, Joe Calzaghe. Since retiring Woodhall has developed a media career as a pundit for the BBC and BT Sport as well as training British Olympic hopefuls in Sheffield.
