Fifty pence on 25/1-shot Cool Dawn in the 1998 Gold Cup was all it cost to sell eleven-year-old Keith Melrose’s soul to horseracing. Ten years and a woefully-misguided pursuit of a career in chemistry later, Keith travelled ‘down South’ to Halifax for a two-month stint as part of the BHA graduate scheme and has worked in the Timeform editorial department ever since. He is currently Online Content Manager, which, among other things, means he is responsible for managing and editing the horseracing content you see right here on Betting.Betfair.
Although it’s specifically racing that pays his mortgage and, just occasionally, provides his beer money, Keith is a fan of sport in general first and foremost. Outside of Timeform Towers, his activities include hardening the stereotypes foisted upon Scottish footballers and kidding himself that he can still play golf to a handicap of ten.
