Gary Boswell

GARY BOSWELL (aka The Boz) spent twenty years as a professional poet and has the distinction of being the youngest living poet featured in the “BBC’s Nation’s Favourite Comic Poems” anthology voted for by the public and first published in 1997.

At the turn of the Century, The Boz swopped his feathered quill for the laptop as Betfair arrived on the scene. A lifelong punter, son and grandson of bookmaking stock, THE BOZ turned to writing about betting for a living and at the same time rediscovered a childhood passion for non-league football through taking eldest son James to watch matches in Morecambe.

He quickly became the recognised non-league betting expert through columns in THE Non-League Paper, The Guardian, The Sporting Life and in 2007 signed up with Betfair to write exclusively for betting.betfair.com and the new Non League Today newspaper which has since turned into the NLN24.com website and associated monthly glossy magazine.

The Boz also writes on women’s tennis,Olympic handball & Table Tennis and has even been known to take on the betting.betfair.com editor “Pacman” in Premier League football head to heads (He’s 2-0 up!).

He was shortlisted in 2008 for the inaugural Sports Journalist Association Betting Writer of The Year.
