After the distasteful events of the play-off in Paris, there's a strong possibility that many Irish fans won't be able to stomach the World Cup this summer.

Fortunately they'll have this glorious World Cup moment to look back upon as they try to stop themselves breaking the TV every time France - 18.0 to win it - take to the field.

Ray Houghton's looping effort over Gianluca Pagliuca has become iconic in Ireland, and understandably so. It stunned the world and ultimately gave the Irish (or English as the commentator calls them on '30) a wonderful win over the mighty Italians.
