Gayego (bottom), was no match for War Artist in the Al Shindagha at Meydan
Timeform bring you their perspective entries for the Group 3 Al Shindagha Sprint, which took place at Meydan on Thursday...
"War Artist was better than ever here, and looks set to
challenge for the top sprints throughout the year, including at this meeting..."
Not much depth to this Group 3, which made it rather uncompetitive, though the first two are of Group 1 standard. War Artist was better than ever here, and looks set to challenge for the top sprints throughout the year, including at this meeting, travelling strongly before showing a really good turn of foot to comfortably settle matters in the straight. Gayego couldn't repeat last year's performance by winning first time up at the Carnival, but this run should set him up nicely for another successful campaign, running on well from the rear, whilst stablemate El Cambio looks a promising new recruit from Australia, and might have finished closer had he not had to wait for a run. The rest were generally below par, with Sir Gerry and Star Crowned both having their third run in as many weeks.
