Champion Trainer Paul Nicholls saddles the likely favourite in a match at 2.30
The cold snap that affected racing so badly was felt likely to result in big fields across Britain and Ireland, with trainers seeking to make up for so many lost opportunities, but the reality hasn't followed that view up at all. Today features two more cards chock-full of small fields, the pick of which for our ends is almost certainly Fontwell.
"Tanktastic should certainly still be going come the end at this trip and is worth banking on in a race that could well fall apart even if all eight take their chance."
2.00 - The seemingly fragile Manele Bay is perhaps worth an interest win-only in this given her encouraging return, but Diktalina (easily forgiven Cheltenham flop) and Good Faloue (stays well and handles the mud) have to be the call for Placepot purposes with a double-up far from out of the question if Richard Rowe's runner doesn't fire.
2.30 - There's an air of desperation about stepping the weak-finishing Recif de Thaix up in trip, but it's still best to take both him and the more likeable Superior Wisdom in a race that's been reduced to a match.
3.00 - The worry here is the possibility of a non-runner, which would leave only two places to play with, but Tanktastic should certainly still be going come the end at this trip and is worth banking on in a race that could well fall apart even if all eight take their chance.
3.30 - Neither of the recent winners look bombproof, but Take It There almost always gives her running, while Quarrymount leaves the impression he's finding his form after a long absence and warrants inclusion, too.
4.00 - Major doubts about the trio at the head of the weights renders this pretty simple in theory; both Spider Boy and Nomadic Warrior are well suited by likely conditions and could easily dominate on the long run-in.
4.30 - No prizes for bravery here with a winner required following Omix d'Or's withdrawal. Shaka's Pearl comes with more risks than the other three and is ignored, leaving one of Fourpointone, Atlantic Jane and Ya I Know to, hopefully, see us home.
