002 Horses to Avoid

Timeform have selected three horses from the all-weather who look worth opposing.
"The veteran Sir Edwin Landseer was a useful performer on his day but his enthusiasm for the game has long since been on the wane".
Despite readily landing a six-furlong claimer at Kempton last Sunday, the Alan Jarvis-trained Little Perisher looks one to take on when next seen on the track. The three-year-old colt has never been the most motivated, hence he holds the Timeform squiggle, but looked refreshed by a short break when registering a length success. In the process he defeated some rivals of equally questionable temperament, however, and is unlikely to find many such suitable tasks.
The veteran Sir Edwin Landseer was a useful performer on his day but his enthusiasm for the game has long since been on the wane, once again in evidence when running in a seller at Wolverhampton last Monday. The Gary Moore-trained ten-year-old once again travelled best but failed to deliver in the finish, only just holding onto third. He is one to swerve at all costs.
The Gary Moore-trained Turner's Touch has long been known as an unwilling character and he demonstrated his flaws once more when throwing away victory in a handicap at Kempton last Thursday. Having loomed up looking certain to register his first success since early-2008, Turner's Touch then proceeded to down tools, reluctant to pass the winner Lytham. It is unlikely to be the last time we see such a performance.
