Never say die attitude - Andrea Petkovic
"There's value in backing Petkovic to win this match in three sets."
Andy's out but the excitement isn't over... Ben Caudell is bigging up the value as two exciting ladies go head to head at midnight in the Big Apple.
Andrea Petkovic (GER) v Vera Zvonareva (RUS)
Today's late night ladies clash between Andrea Petkovic and Vera Zvonareva will provide us with ample trading opportunities.
Zvonareva starts the match as the odds-on favourite to win tonight, and rightly so. All the stats favour the Russian who has shown in the run up to Flushing Meadows that she can compete with the very best; this has been aided by the obvious changes she has made to her temperament that in the past often hampered her.
Since reaching the Wimbledon Final back in June, Zvonareva suffered a slight hangover and fell at the second round stage of both San Diego and Cincinnati. The Russian then went on to reach the Montreal Premier event final, defeating Kim Clijsters and Victoria Azarenka before losing to Caroline Wozniacki in straight sets.
The seventh seed is yet to drop a set at this year's US Open compared with Petkovic, who managed to scrape through two epic three setters incurring match points against her during the Germans courageous performance against Bethanie Mattek-Sands in round two. Zvonareva will be hoping to make it through to the quarter-finals of the US Open for the first time in her career and is looking in good shape to do so. Petkovic is competing in only her third US Open with tonight's match, representing her first ever Grand Slam fourth round tie.
Viewed by many as a potential top 10 player, Petkovic who is ranked 38 in the world, has the type of game that can unravel all the good work and confidence that Zvonareva exudes at the moment. The twenty-two-year-old tenacious grinder, who never say, die at the moment, will fight to the bitter end. I believe that there is value in backing Petkovic to win this match in three sets and show us yet another dance move in celebration.
