More than 60 games so far this season could see Serb tumble out says Betfairian Perfecsuen
US Open Womens Singles, fourth round preview
S. Bammer (Austria) vs J. Jankovic (Serbia)
Well, the rooster came home yesterday and youth took over the world of women´s tennis. With the likes of Szavay, Azarenka and Radwanska bringing down the top seeds, no one is safe in this US Open even with previous superiority over your opponent.
Jankovic has beaten Bammer 5-1 in previous encounters and it seems this could be another whitewash. I dont see that as being the case today as there have been some subtle pointers that Jankovic´s game is a bit off. The Serb has been playing in all sorts of tournaments this year and she is in her 60th plus match of the season. That total is not healthy and it is bound to take its toll. She was put under severe pressure by the youngster Alize Cornet, who took a set off her for the first time in this tournament.
Bammer will be coming into this match fresh and full of confidence after seeing off Dementieva in two quick and easy sets and just dropping three games on her way to this third round match. She will be taking on Jankovic with a clean slate in her mind and can push hard enough to give herself decent chances to cause yet another upset.
This is a make or break match for Bammer and there is weight of expectation on her to pull through this one as the other Austrian, Paszek is through to the Round of 16 and as number one in Austria, she will want to follow suit. It is hard to make a case for a Bammer win, but she will take a set of Jankovic who is ridiculously short to win in 2 sets.
Suggested Bet: Lay Jankovic to win 2-0 @ 1.57 and small stakes Lay Jankovic to win the match @ 1.19
