Australian and Cypriot produce a true five set thriller...
Marcos Baghdatis and Lleyton Hewitt produced a five set betting classic in the wee small hours at the Australian Open.
Bagdhatis was matched at a high of 300 and a low of 1.28 when going out of the tournament to the home favourite.
He hit the low when going one set up against Hewitt, but the Aussie No.1 rattled off the next two sets to send Baghdatis to the brink of elimination.
Yet somehow the Cypriot turned around a 5-1 deficit in the fourth set to pull himself back into the match. During that set he was matched at 300.
But the heroics could not continue and one break by Hewitt was all he needed to wrap up the fifth.
Hewitt has been matched at 160 to win the tournament and is now down to 50.
