Nadal beats Federer to win the Hamburg Masters for the first time...
Rafael Nadal's incredible love affair with clay court tennis continued this afternoon after he was matched at [11.0] on Betfair to beat old nemesis Roger Federer in the final of the Hamburg Masters.
Seemingly down and out in the first set and struggling with muscular problems, customers on Betfair were happy to lay the Spaniard at odds of [11.0] for the match and at odds of [120.0] to win the match in straight sets. Those who laid the [120.0] on a 2-0 Nadal win ended up dodging a bullet after Federer won the second set to enforce a decider but those who laid the [11.0] on Nadal winning the match weren't so lucky. Federer was matched at a low of [1.09].
Nadal is a solid favourite at [1.74] for French Open glory which starts next week whilst today's beaten finalist Federer is [5.7]. Novak Djokovic, who put in a heroic performance in defeat to Nadal in yesterday's semi shouldn't be discounted either, and is trading at [7.4].
