Murray second-favourite for Dubai Championship victory after derailing Federer
Roger Federer was matched at [1.1] on Betfair against Andy Murray after being a set up in the first round of the Dubai Championships before losing in three. The Swiss World Number One was also matched at a low of [1.75] on the winner market after he stole the first set in a tie break after going behind, at which point Murray touched [10.0] on the match odds and [40.0] on the winner market.
But Murray broke Federer once in each of the second and third sets to seal a 6-7 6-3 6-4 win with the 2-1 to Murray runner touching [12.5] on the set betting market.
Murray's super win has seen him installed as the [5.1] second-favourite for the tournament, just behind Novak Djokovic at [3.85]; Rafael Nadal is [6.2].
Federer's loss this afternoon after his semi-final defeat to Djokovic in the Australian Open has seen him drift to 5 for the next Grand Slam of the year, the French Open, having been matched as low as [3.7]. Three-time winner Nadal is the even money favourite to win at Roland Garros again.
