Simon - Nadal's [1.01] conqueror - is beaten in straight sets as Murray takes second successive Masters title.
Andy Murray has won his second successive Masters title after defeating Gilles Simon in Madrid this afternoon.
The British star was backed at a high of [16.0] on Betfair to win the title when trailing Roger Federer by a set in their semi-final on Saturday.
He had little problems dealing with Simon in the final which he won in straight sets, never going above [1.38] in the betting.
His opponent will take good memories away from a tournament where he beat Rafael Nadal on his way to the final.
The Spanish world no. 1 was backed at [1.01] on Betfair before he was stunned by the Frenchman in last night's semi-final.
Nadal was backed a the exchange's lowest price when a set and a break up in the match. But Simon - who was backed at a high of [55.0] to win the game - took the last two sets to set up the final with Murray.
