Tim Henman is looking to kick on in 2007 after he recorded only his second win of the season on Friday.
Henman won Britain's second point of the day in the Davis Cup when he saw off a determined challenge from 20-year-old Robin Haase, winning 7-6 (7-4) 6-3 7-6 (7-4).
Britain's number two made a delayed start to his 2007 campaign and has yet to signal any genuine intent after disappointing performances at The Tennis Channel Open, Pacific Life Open and Sony Ericsson Open events in America.
But the 32-year-old is determined to get back to full match fitness and get back amongst the big guns.
"It's fantastic to be back in this type of atmosphere. It's what Davis Cup is all about," said Henman on Friday.
"Last year I began to miss it and to be back winning is even better.
"I feel in good shape," he added.
Next up for Henman after the Davis Cup is the Masters Series Monte-Carlo event, which stars on April 16 and where Spain's Rafael Nadal will be looking to make it three wins on the spin after he successfully defended his title in 2006 with victory over Swiss superstar Roger Federer 6-2 6-7 6-3 7-6.
