Rafael Nadal extended his winning steak on clay with a straight sets dismissal of Guillermo Canas in the final of the Barcelona Open.
The world number two exuded an efficient authority right from the start and required one break of serve per set to clinch his third successive title on Catalan soil, 6-3 6-4.
The Spaniard now matches the achievements of former world number one Mats Wilander, who also won three clay court titles in Barcelona.
Canas had no answer to a succession of heavy Nadal groundstrokes and could not prevent the Spaniard extending his record-winning streak on clay to 72 matches.
The world number two has now won 20 career titles, 15 of them on clay and is the favourite to clinch the season's second 'major' tournament - the French Open.
Nadal is the 1.73 Betfair favourite, with world number one Roger Federer (3.65) and Canas (23) prominent in the betting.
