Betfair punters who backed Andy Murray to retain his San Jose Open title will have been impressed by the Scot's battling performance as he overcame Kristian Pless in the third round.
Murray was pushed all the way by the Dane, having to save break points in the final set, before running out a 6-0 6-7 (5-7) 6-4 winner.
Despite the win though, Betfair players still remain a little cautious and he is still third best in the win market for the tournament trading at 4 with rivals James Blake (3.5) and Andy Roddick (3.6) shorter than him in the market.
However, Murray believes he can only get better and was not overly impressed with his own display.
"I felt a little sluggish but I wasn't playing badly," said Murray. "I was able to get through and on this court I was able to keep the ball down.
"I didn't play my best today but to give him credit, he played a really good second set - he started coming into the net and going for everything.
"These courts are so fast that it's difficult to come back when you are behind in sets," he added.
Murray will now go on to face either Simon Greul or Hyung-Taik Lee in the last eight.
