The world number three strained his hamstring and was forced to withdraw from his match against Britain's Andy Murray in Miami.

But Roddick has practiced this week without any problems and will team up with James Blake and Bob and Mike Bryan for the clash with the Spanish - which starts on Friday.

The 24-year-old admitted: "I don't know if it's 100% but it's getting better daily and that's a good thing. It might be safer (to sit out), but at this time, Davis Cup is one of my biggest priorities.

"If I'm here and can go out and try to get a win, I'm going to do that."
Meanwhile, Spain will be without world number two Rafael Nadal through injury, so Tommy Robredo and David Ferrer are expected to feature in the singles.

The home side are the strong favourites to reach the semi-finals, with Patrick McEnroe's men trading at 1.25 while Spain are available to back at 4.8.
