Tournament outsider Lucie Safarova set her sights on Paris Open glory after upsetting the form book to beat Justine Henin.
The unseeded Czech star fought back from a break down in both sets to claim a shock 7-6 (7-5) 6-4 victory.
The 20-year-old, who was sidelined last year because of injury, could not believe her luck after stunning the world's number two but refused to get too carried away.
Safarova said: "I was out injured last year or coming back from injuries so I didn't feel too good.
"But that's tennis, sometimes you feel great but sometimes you can lose."
Safarova will face Nadia Petrova in Sunday's final after she too claimed a shock win over home favourite Amelie Mauresmo in a tight three-set contest.
Safarova is available at 4.2 and 5 to win 2-0 in straight sets and two sets to one respectively on Betfair's Set Betting market, while Petrova is available at 2.84 and 4.1.
Safarova is trading at 2.4 in the Match Odds market to go all the way and claim victory while Petrova, who came from a set down and 4-1 behind in the third set to beat second seed Mauresmo 5-7 6-4 7-6 (9-7), is available at 1.7.
