Andy Roddick has moved up to third in the ATP rankings despite losing the Memphis International final.
The American number one was beaten 6-3 6-2 by Tommy Haas, who became only the second player - along with Jimmy Connors - to win three Memphis titles.
It was Roddick's first final since his US Open defeat to Roger Federer in September, with that enabling him to move up one place in the rankings.
Roddick admitted afterwards: "He (Haas) just outplayed me today. I shot myself in the foot by playing sloppy early. Then he's got the momentum and he went with it."
The 24-year-old has not won a tournament since the Cincinnati Masters Series in August, although his form has improved in recent times.
But with Roger Federer continuing to dominate the men's game, Roddick is trading at 7 to win a Grand Slam event in 2007 in Betfair's tennis specials section.
