Perfecseun looks at the best bet from today's Western and Southern Masters
Round 3 Preview
J. Melzer (Austria) vs L. Hewitt (Australia)
As pointed out in the section Players Under the Microscope, Melzer is showing how much he loves playing on hard courts. He is a rejuvenated player and has the added bonus of being a fitness fanatic which may help to explain his new lease of life in the game. Today, he will be hoping to break his duck against Hewitt and this will be one huge task to overcome.
Melzer vs Hewitt goes to its sixth round today and so far, Hewitt is the clear favourite with a 5-0 head to head record.
Anyone that sees that would immediately write Melzer off but as pointed out, he is in better form. The Austrian is holding his serve better than ever and also his return game is much improved. Like Hewitt, there is a lot of depth to his game and they will slug this one out. Melzer is coming into this match probably with the best form of his 2007 season. The heat in Cinncinati won't be a factor for him as he is a very fit player and you can count on him not to drop out like a few players did yesterday.
It seems like a foregone conclusion to this match but I'm sticking by the Austrian number 1 to give Hewitt a few questions to answer.
Suggested Bet: Lay L. Hewitt to win 2-0 @ 1.97. Small stakes Lay on L. Hewitt to win the match @ 1.35
