Perfecseun sheds some light on...value bets at the Pilot Pen Tournament

I had a quick glance at the draws for the Men“s draw of the Pilot Pen tennis and two names jumped out. Paul Henri Mathieu and David Ferrer have good chances to make the final and win.

David Ferrer was in brilliant form last week, returning well until he met Davydenko and he capitulated. His side of the draw looks easy to clear and he will be confident of seeing off Isner (the main danger in that quarter), who he beat last week in 2 sets, if the American moves past the first round.

Mathieu looks in good form on hard courts but did not give good account of himself at Cincinnati. He has the game to cut through his draw and Davydenko will be the main danger. If Mathieu keeps up the form that took him to the round of 16 in Montreal, he will do damage here.

It is also worth mentioning Nieminen and James Blake who reached the finals of Cincinnati last week, though I don't fancy either of them to go all the way.
