Perfecseun gives you the form as Ivanovic takes on Schnyder...
Round 1: A. Ivanovic (Serbia) vs P. Schnyder ( Switzerland)
If form and ranking are anything to go by, then there should only be one winner in this match. Ivanovic has been a revelation this year and has improved her ranking and game so much that you almost expect her to beat anyone that may stray across her path. The Serb will hope her new found supremacy over Schnyder will see her through this first round match as she's not used to losing at this stage of tournaments any more.
Schnyder had a terrible time last week. She had a handful of match points in her quarter-final match against Hantuchova in Luxembourg and just couldn't convert. Some line calls got to her as well and from then on there was only one winner - her opponent. This week, her task is to play well enough and score points to see her through to the end of season championships. It is a tough ask as she has lost her last two matches to Ivanovic, but she does lead the series 4-2.
With a lot to play for more than the rising Serb, Schnyder might just produce some of her best tennis. It is not as if she cant master Ivanovic, it is a case of her mental state.
Suggested Bet: Lay Ivanovic to win 2-0 sets @ 1.95
