Alex Bogdanovic on Thursday bids to become the third British player in the main draw for the Pacific Life Open in Indian Wells.
Bogdanovic beat America's Amer Delic 6-3 6-4 to reach the final qualifying round of the tournament in California and could join Tim Henman and Andy Murray when the event gets underway proper.
The British number three faces Czech Lukas Dlouhy in good form and with his confidence on a high.
"I thought I played pretty solidly all round," said 22-year-old Bogdanovic, who was break point down at 4-3 in the second set before sealing victory.
"I served pretty well and was generally in control of the points. I had a few chances to go a double break up in the second set and I didn't take them - then he had chances to break back.
"But I kept my composure to get a good win."
Bogdanovic is currently available at 1.75 to win his match with Dlouhy and progress to the main draw, with punters unable to separate the two as his opponent is on offer at the same odds.
Henman faces Jan Hernych in round one while Murray has a bye into the second round.
Henman, still searching for full match fitness after a recent knee injury lay-off, is available at 1.31 to beat Hernych (3.35).
