The Sunfeast Open, currently in its third year, will be held at the Netaji Indoor Stadium in Kolkata and betting for this Tier III WTA event, starting on September 17, is likely to appeal.
Those with bets on Martina Hingis last year were rewarded when she triumphed 6-0, 6-4 over Russian teenager Olga Poutchkova and the Swiss star's odds for 2007 could be reflected by that one-sided victory.
A host of top women's tennis stars have confirmed their participation at the $175,000 tournament in what will be a lively betting event.
And those with bets on world number 10 and poster princess, Daniela Hantuchova, could be rewarded.
The Slovakian is enjoying a productive 2007 and justified the odds when she claimed her second career singles title at the Tier I Indian Wells, California.
She became one to watch in the betting when she reached the quarter-finals at the Australian Open in 2003 and in 2002 at the Wimbledon and US Opens.
In 2002 she also landed the bets when she became the lowest-seeded player to win a Tier I event, also at Indian Wells, and became one of five players to win her debut singles title at a Tier I event.
Marion Bartoli will also be looking to enhance her credentials after a successful 2007 in which she upset the odds to reach the Wimbledon final and fourth round of the French and US Opens.
The 22-year-old Frenchwoman, now ranked number 11 in the world, rewarded her followers in the betting when she claimed two Tier III events - in Japan and Canada in 2006 - and her rising status in the game is likely to be reflected in her odds.
Emerging Russian star Maria Kirilenko and home favourite Sania Mirza might also be considered as outside bets when the markets develop.
