Perfecseun tells us why Peer isn't the opponent Jankovic will want to be facing today
J. Jankovic (Serbia) vs S. Peer (Israel)
Looking back at the whole year, Shahar Peer will be satisfied with the progress she has made in her tennis career. She started the year at number 20 and has moved up to 16. Her major improvements have come at the Grand Slams - 2 quarter-final appearances at the Australian and US Open and also improved on her best rounds at Wimbledon and Roland Garros. The Achilles heel for this young player is her consistency though which makes betting on or against her a tricky game.
Peer will face Jankovic for the first time in their careers today. Both players came on the scene around the same time but Jankovic has taken huge strides in her game and that is evident in her ranking of 3. What is worriyng about the Serbian is the amount of tennis she has played all season and it is bound to take its toll. She has travelled far and wide to play on the tour, from the US Open to the Far East in Bali and Beijing. Although she has taken a week off, that might just not be enough to recover.
This match will be a power one as both players like to hit the ball hard. But, the surface at Stuttgart slows down the ball and there could be a lot of mishits. There is nothing to set either aside apart from ranking. They have the same fighting attitude and this should be a good battle to the finish.
Suggested Bet: Lay Jankovic to win 2-0 sets @ 1.88
