Ben Caudell rounds off 14 days of tennis tipping with his suggested bets for the Federer v Nadal final.
Serena Williams has won her fourth Australian Open title after annihilating her opponent Dinara Safina 6-0, 6-3. This was Serena's 10th Grand Slam win, the experience obviously having a bearing on the match, with Dinara Safina wilting away at the presence of such a champion.
Both of yesterdays tips were successful although not surprising, Serena winning the match at a massive [1.4] to back pre-match and [2.0] to win 2-0
Rafael Nadal v Roger Federer
The final everyone has been waiting to see is finally upon us. Nadal, the number one seed, is playing Roger Federer, the number two, in a repeat of last year's French Open and Wimbledon finals. This match promises to be another cracker with the Spaniard leading their head-to-head 12-6, only three of these were played on hard court and not since Feb 2006 have they played on this surface.
So what can we expect from two of the best players to ever grace the game? Firstly, Federer will be looking for revenge against the Spaniard who has won their last four meetings. The Swiss player will be less tired and in better shape than Nadal having had an extra days rest and an easier semi final match, a straight set win over Andy Roddick. Nadal, on the other hand, will be suffering after his epic five-setter against fellow country man Fernando Verdasco, the match lasted a little short of five and a half hours.
The final will be played at night at around 8.30am(UK time). On this surface I think the conditions will favour Federer. At night the balls tend to bounce a little lower, and that can sometimes favour the better server. I'm not sure this will go to five sets like the Wimbledon final so I will be backing Federer to win 3-1
