But the British number three is determined to take his Wimbledon chance
Alex Bogdanovic is out of the Artois Tennis Championship at the Queen's Club in London.
The 24 year old Davis Cup player, coached by Brad Gilbert, was beaten 6-3,6-3, by the Australian qualifier Joseph Sirianni.
After the match, Bogdanovic said: "I needed to serve better (against Sirianni). I had chances early on but unfortunately could not take them."
Despite the defeat, Bogdanovic believes he is making progress under Gilbert's guidance, saying:
"We have been working hard and I have been playing well. It is just a matter of time until the result show this. The high intensity and experience Brad Gilbert has brought to me has been fantastic.
"I am playing good tennis. Brad keeps telling me I need to be more aggresive."
Bogdanovich is feeling confident in the build up to Wimbledon. He said: "I am looking forward to Nottingham and Wimbledon. If I can take my chances at Wimbledon, who knows?"
