Attention TaiKai Masters!

TaiKai recently launched and this blog is meant to give you a bit of an inside scoop about what happens behind the scenes. Over the next few postings, we hope to tell you a bit more about TaiKai and answer your questions.

TaiKai is the first site to enable friends and others to come together, predict the outcome of sporting events and compete for real money. It's a chance for players to prove their opinions. Disagree with a mate about this week's games? Think you know more than the average Joe? TaiKai should be the starting point for settling these debates! TaiKai takes just a few simple steps to play.

1. Pick a tournament: what sport interests you? Whether it's football or tennis, if it's significant, TaiKai will have it. As part of picking a tournament, you should also pick your buy-in level. You can play for free, low buy-ins (such as £3), or more substantial sums over £100.

2. Make your predictions using your TaiKai Dollars. Like chips in a poker tournament, every player gets 10,000 TaiKai Dollars to bet on their selections. If it's a football tournament, you might make a few match odds bets, and then go for a long shot on the correct score. The name of the game is to make the most TaiKai Dollar profit, so there's probably little sense in just playing it totally safe - but of course, going crazy with your bets won't guarantee a success either!

3. Pay the buy-in: only once you've made your selections will you be asked to pay the buy-in. You need a funded Betfair account to do this. And if you're playing just a free tournament, then no money is needed.

4. Invite some friends: whether you're playing a private tournament that you created, or a public one set up by the Betfair operator, tell your friends about it.

5. Play! Come back to TaiKai to check on your results as each day passes in the tournament. Results are updated at the end of each day. Also, see everyone's bets, what selections have been made and if you're playing a "TaiKai+" tournament, make some more bets! And of course, have some fun with your rivals along the way with a cheeky chat post or two...
