Who's worth an X Factor bet out of Rhydian, Niki, Leon, Hope and Same Difference.
Usually the oddballs are sifted out during the audition phase - always the best bit TV-wise - but this year, two of the remaining five X Factor finalists have made us shift uncomfortably in our seats as much as they've made ripples in the betting market.
Have Same Difference got the X Factor? 'Bet ye not' would be the advice. This brother-sister double act not only make you cringe with their over-excited-kids-TV-presenter manner, but... well, something's just not quite right is it? Personally, I don't think you should see your sister any more often than at Christmas and other sundry public holidays - and even then a mumbled "Y'alright" to each other should suffice. Breaking into a well-rehearsed 'Kids from Fame' dance routine is just plain wrong.
By contrast, the other odd-bod in the X-Factor odds - Rhydian - just might go ahead and win the whole thing. As if being Welsh and slightly up your own backside wasn't alienating enough, having your hair bleached white and a few thousand volts applied to make it stand on end would seem certain to ruin your credibility with voters and bettors alike. However the 'Rhydian bet' looks like the smart X Factor bet - the boy can actually sing.
Of the rest, betting on Hope is an XFactor bet to nothing. Lashed together out of audition rejects, the cunning plan of letting the only girl in the group who can actually sing, do all the singing was quickly seen through - expect an exit before the final.
Leon's X Factor odds reflect the fact that he's cornered the 'cuddle-from-Mum' vote. The Ahhh Factor? Undoutbedly. The XFactor? The betting says no.
Which leaves Niki Evans the biggest challenger to Rhydian Roberts. Evans vs Roberts? It sounds like the X Factor winner could be coming from Wales, but will Niki prove to be a rare triumph for experience over youth? The X Factor odds are against it, but we'll find out for sure over the final few weeks.
