Olly Murs is getting stronger as every week goes by and he's now the new favourite to wins this year's X Factor

If Danyl's going to let what's written in the press affect his life then he shouldn’t be aspiring to become a pop star in the first place. He just needs to get on with what he does best, ignore the gossip, and win over the public in the only way he can."

Whilst Mike Norman concentrates on perfecting the Olly Shuffle it seems that 'not being so good' is the new greatness. This spells danger for Jamie this week says Mike, though he'd love nothing more than the twins to go.

After so long, I've finally worked out how you get through the early rounds of The X Factor - be about as exciting as Jack Dee reading poetry or be as good at singing as Katie Price is at long-term relationships.

Last weekend saw Danyl Johnson completely drained of confidence, forget his words and sing out of tune throughout his performance. We also saw Lloyd Daniels struggle badly for the fourth week running (so no excuses for his bad throat please) and John & Edward kill a Queen classic - let's be honest though, whatever song those creatures sing they kill so here's hoping they sing Ice Ice Baby very soon!

But remarkably all three acts made it through, Danyl and John & Edward by not being in the bottom two and Lloyd because of the fact that Rachel had fewer votes than him.

Oh, before I go on, let me remind you what my advice was last week;

"Incidentally, in the Bottom Two Combo market, Lloyd/Rachel is available to back at a very tempting 5.9. If you can't decide who will go but, like me, you think these guys will struggle, then this is the bet for you."

I know I know, there are two types of tipster in this world. Those (myself for example) that tip decent price winners regularly (Rikki two weeks ago, Lloyd/Rachel recently), and those that shirk the 4th Elimination market because knowing how the public will vote looks a bit unpredictable at the moment. Actually (he knows I'm only joking), I've got some good words to say about Jack Houghton later so stay tuned.

Ok, back to what I'm paid to do.

I tipped Danyl to win the competition at the outset and I still harbour hopes that he will. For me he is the best singer stroke performer in the competition... but boy does he need an injection of reality. If Danyl's going to let what's written in the press affect his life then he shouldn't be aspiring to become a pop star in the first place. He just needs to get on with what he does best, ignore the gossip, and win over the public in the only way he can.

Danyl is available to back at [8.2] in the Winner market but I have to admit (and I'll say this quietly) that Jack Houghton has got it spot on this year.

Both Olly ([3.6]) and Joe ([5.0]) were put up at much bigger odds by Houghton (Joe by yours truly also), and as every week passes these two look by far the most comfortable on stage. They seem to adapt to any genre of music thrown at them and I can't wait to see them on Saturday as I think movies week will be right up their street. Even as a straight bloke I'm loving the Olly Shuffle, and perfecting it with a bottle of Bud in my hand (or any other brand of lager for the sake of not being sued) is top of my 'to do' list right now.

I 'm not a huge fan of Jamie ([19.5]) and I'm now completely undecided about the only other two contestants that can win, Stacey ([6.8]) and Lucie ([8.0]). Lucie's performances have been great of late.

Stacey's appeal is starting to wear off on me now (can anyone really be that dippy?) though I did chuckle when Dannii Minogue thanked Brian Friedman for the work he'd done with her choreography on Saturday. Am I the only person in the world who noticed that all she did was sit down during the first half of her performance, stood up and then walked forward? Don't you learn that at the age of one or two?

This week's 5th Elimination market is intriguing. Lloyd is the [2.88] favourite to go but I have a feeling he will get the sympathy vote (sore throats do that you know) and be saved. If this is true, and assuming those high-haired brats from Ireland stay in, then it looks bad for Jamie, who at [5.8] to back, is my selection to get the boot.

I'd love nothing more than to be wrong though if it meant that John & Edward were sent packing. A rendition of Ice Ice Baby might just do the trick. And yes, it was in a movie.
