Bachmann announces her decision
"Santorum trades at [15.5] in the Republican nominee market and [42.0] to be the next president."
Republican race is an all male affair after Minnesota congresswoman quits. Will her supporters get behind Santorum?
Michelle Bachmann's exit from the race to be Republican nominee could provide another boost to Rick Santorum's compelling campaign.
Bachmann chose to withdraw after finishing sixth in Tuesday's Iowa Caucus where she won only five percent of the vote. As a social conservative, who shares many of Santorum's views on issues such as gay marriage and birth control, she might encourage her supporters to get behind the former-senator's campaign.
The Minnesota congresswoman's exit hasn't, as yet, had any impact on Santorum's odds - he trades at [15.5] in the Republican nominee market and [42.0] to be the next President - but that could change if Bachmann chooses to endorse him.
Mitt Romney, who won in Iowa by eight votes, recevied a boost ahead of next week's New Hampshire primary as 2008 Republican candidate John McCain came out in support of him. The Arizona senator is backing Romney, who trades at [1.31], to be the GOP's man for 2012.
The race is shaping up to be one of the most exciting in Republican history. In the mean time, here are some of Michelle Bachmann's best moments.
