The deeper we penetrate into the jungle, the more mysterious its ways appear. What mischievous spirit makes Janice Dickinson believe "Oh man," is an interesting thing to say over and over again? What spell has been cast to make the campers think nice-but-dull "J" is going to win? And who is voting for Anna Ryder Richardson?

This season's "I'm a Celebrity" has been unusual for having such a strong core of older contestants who absolutely cannot stand one another - and neither, it seems, can the voting public. With Rodney Marsh gone, only one of the cranky four remains - Janice - and even her early supporters must be rapidly losing their initial fascination. She's been utterly useless in the trials, while her co-contestants have exhibited extraordinary stoic endurance of every humiliation possible. Her behaviour when Lynne Franks left camp was beyond obnoxious, and her inability to display anything resembling a human side to her personality all mean that three could soon become four.

Cerys is second favourite to go but could be protected by being the big story ([3.95] on Betfair to go), Biggins is the people's choice, "J" has qualities invisible to the naked eye which are keeping him in, but Anna, favourite for the boot [1.86] may have done herself an immense favour by spending a night sleeping with the rats. Which means those with work to do are suddenly Gemma ([6.6]) and Janice ([12.0]).
