Mark Rhodes (right) could be saying goodbye to his mucka, Sam Nixon, come elimination time

"If Mark is in the skate-off this weekend then he’ll almost certainly go, so a price of [8.0] on him to depart looks too big to ignore."

Younger bettors may recognise Mark Rhodes, the rest will just say 'who?', but whether you know him or not he's still a good bet to leave the show this week, says Simon Hopper

It's no surprise to see Corey Feldman installed as the hot favourite to exit Dancing On Ice this weekend.

The Hollywood child star only survived last Sunday's skate-off because 66 year-old Laila Morse - aka Big Mo from Eastenders - had a shoulder injury and practically couldn't skate. Feldman was partying with the Desperate Scousewives in Mayfair just 72 hours before the live show - and his lack of practice on the ice showed with the judges scoring him a paltry 11 points. The Lost Boys star has also found time to have a series of bust-ups with partner Brooke Castile and even refused a fake tan, an unprecedented act in the long and (ahem) illustrious history of the show.

But Corey may just be granted another stay of execution this week because, believe it or not, there is actually someone worse at skating than him still in the competition. Mark Rhodes managed the third lowest score of all-time last weekend (8), with only Steven Arnold and the king of slapstick himself, Todd Carty, ever carding a lower number.

Even more amazingly, he managed to avoid the bottom two, but rubbish skaters never last long on Dancing On Ice - Arnold was voted off this time last year and Carty himself only actually skated four times in 2009.

If Mark is in the skate-off this weekend then he'll almost certainly go, so a price of [8.0] on him to depart looks too big to ignore.

Another long shot who could be in danger is funny man Andy Whyment. He's not bad enough to be a figure of ridicule, yet not good enough to get votes for his skating ability. People assume comedians (or comedy actors) are safe for a few shows but we've already pointed out the early plights of Messrs Arnold and Carty, while even the legendary Bobby Davro didn't get beyond the first week. At a big price the Coronation Street star could prove to be a shrewd investment.
