Celebrity Big Brother Day Two: Ulrika isn't endearing herself to anyone

Dan "The Betting Man" Fitch has been glued to the telly to report back to betting.betfair.com readers on what's been going on in day two of Celebrity Big Brother.
Last night's Celebrity Big Brother saw the housemates getting to grips with their new surroundings. The biggest problem that they currently face, is how not to come over as being completely patronising, when dealing with Vern Troyer.
The problem is that while Vern is independent and can do most things for himself, it is hard for people to sit back and do nothing when they see someone struggling with a suitcase that is five times their size.
In a frank conversation with Tommy Sheridan, Vern explained how he prefers to do things for himself and will ask for help, only when he really needs it. This prompted Ulrika Jonsson to compare Vern's situation with how she felt when she recently had a bad back.
The look on Vern's face made it clear that he didn't really think the two conditions were comparable. Personally, I'd always thought that the main problem with Ulrika's back was her propensity for lying on it.
Troyer is still the favourite to win the competition, but last night's show saw his price rise to [2.92]. He didn't really seem to be that happy to be in the house and the biggest danger when backing someone at short odds on a show like this, is the chance that they might walk out. Vern might be wishing he'd accepted that alternative offer of that nice panto in Basingstoke.
Also seeming a bit shell-shocked was La Toya Jackson, though as she's unable to change the expression on her face, it's hard to really tell what she's thinking. Her naïve, little lost girl act might endear her to the public and the market saw her price drop to [18.5].
The opening night saw a scramble for beds by the celebrities. Terry Christian was left complaining that he didn't have a bed for the night, which was a problem that Ulrika was unsurprisingly unable to empathise with.
Christian's reticence was rewarded when Big Brother made him head of the house and gave him his own private room, with en-suite facilities. Christian was also made ineligible for eviction.
Terry seems to be pretty down to earth and his price has dropped to [7.4]. One possible fly in the ointment for his chances could be the fact that he's reasonably intelligent, especially when compared to his fellow housemates.
A reference made to Brendan Behan, went over everyone's head and prompted Ulrika to accuse Christian of being boring. I don't suppose that she and Hunter from Gladiators had much time for pillow talk about Irish Republican poets.
Ulrika's price has predictably risen to [19.0]. Of the other girls, Lucy ([27.0]), Michelle ([24.0]) and Mutya ([38.0]), didn't really do or say much. Still, that's not why they were hired. As long as they get their bikinis on at some point...
One woman with plenty to say for herself is Tina Malone ([17.5]), who revealed that she doesn't drink and gives up something every year. I'd guess that before 2009 is out, she'll have given up being famous.
The undoubted star of last night's show was Coolio, who dropped to [7.8] in the betting. He revealed to a shocked La Toya that he was the first person in his family to earn $1,000,000 in a year. Quite what he's done with this money is anyone's guess, considering that he was willing to accept just £30,000 to live with a bunch of strangers for three weeks.
