Could Cocozza really land CBB?
"As things stand, Frankie Cocozza could do on CBB what he couldn't do on X Factor - win the bloody thing. Of course, he's helped by the fact this isn't a talent show."
He never really had a chance on the X Factor but Frankie Cocozza looks like a genuine contender on Celebrity Big Brother, says Eliot Pollack
As so often in Big Brother, the calm precludes the storm. The camera-conscious start all nicey-nicey but soon the human element kicks in, particularly with those ghastly celebs. There has been a bit of a lull in the house since Andrew Stone - as in THE Andrew Stone - left. His meltdown had all the ingredients of great TV, but now a cloud has drawn in, and everyone just seems to be squabbling. Denise and Michael can't see eye to eye, those twins just hate everyone, and even Natalie's cheerful veneer is fading.
Winners
Great week for gay rugby legend, Gareth Thomas [4.0]. Of all of them in there, he is the one going on "a journey", and his back-story has caught the voters' attention. Now the favourite, he'll be hard to beat. But so unpredictable is this show on FIVE, that it simply isn't worth hurling the mortgage on him just yet.
Frankie Cocozza [4.6] appears to be winning people over - basically because he's stopped trying to smash the twins. As things stand, he could do on CBB what he couldn't do on X Factor - win the bloody thing. Of course, he's helped by the fact this isn't a talent show.
It's also worth keeping an eye on Michael Madsen [8.6], who has shown just the right amount of sensitivity to shatter any prissy Hollywood illusions.
Losers
Natalie Cassidy [5.8] had a brilliant first few days, and looked a shoo-in for victory, but things are starting to slip. She's coming off as a bit bitchy, and would be wise to escape the orbit of the horrible glamour model, Nicola.
Denise Welch [13.0] has had a bad week - getting her disgusting bits out didn't help. Plus her neediness is becoming ever more apparent. CBB voters can't stand neediness.
Kirk Norcross [55.0] doesn't stand a chance. His pestering of Georgia Wotsit became borderline aggressive, and his logic that single girls have no reason not to be with him was a depressing indictment on what low-rent fame does to the modern man.
This Week's Eviction
This week's eviction market should be close, with everyone up except Gareth. If it was 'vote to get rid', Nicola would be toast, but with it being 'vote to save', we could simply see the least interesting housemates going. In which case, all fingers would point to the twins to exit at [5.0].
